Covering

Natural covering is the easiest and most cost efficient way of breeding your mare. Our stallions are very experienced at breeding via this ‘inhand’ method and every possible caution is taken to safeguard your mare against injury.

It is less costly due to the reduced amount of times the vet has to visit, however it is completely up to the mare owner and the individual mare as to the amount of vet intervention there is.

For ‘easy breeders’ the mare will be covered some where between 3 to 5 times during their season. They are then scanned at 14 days after the final covering to confirm pregnancy.

However, there is merit in the mare being scanned for the optimum time for her to be covered, this can increase the chances of pregnancy and reduces the amount of times she is covered.
